Jeff Mullins leads the MBP team with 28 years of industry experience. He holds an AHC certification which allows him to coordinate thousands of builder’s hardware items and options to ensure door openings are in compliance with fire, life safety, accessibility and building code requirements. Jeff is skilled at networking and consulting with owners/architects/contractors in the Southeastern U. S. Jeff graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree and also obtained his MBA from the University of Alabama Birmingham.
Vice President, Accounting, and HR Manager
Susan is the vibrant personality managing our office in Birmingham. Along with being Vice President of the company, she also works in accounting and human resources and has been a part of the family business for 20 years. She is a graduate of Auburn University, where she spends many fall football weekends visiting her son who is currently a student on The Plains. She also enjoys running, photography, blogging, as well as serving with her husband, Jeremy, on the greeter team at Church of the Highlands. Since Susan and Jeremy are “empty nesters”, they are thankful for the company of their faithful dachshund, Lena-Belle.
With over 20 years of tenure with Mullins Building Products, Ellis manages the Decatur, AL operation in addition to sales and consulting for his clients. He holds both an AHC (Architectural Hardware Consultant) and FDAI (Fire and Egress Door Assembly Inspection) certification and is qualified to perform inspections in accordance with the NFPA 80 requirements. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama and resides in Cullman with his wife and two beautiful daughters.
Kenny Pugh joined the Mullins team in 2008 and brought with him over 40 years of experience in the door and hardware industry. Most recently, he was certified as a Fire Door Assembly Inspector (FDAI) and is proficient with NFPA 80’s inspection requirements, including proper documentation practices. Kenny brings a wealth of knowledge to our team, and as a registered AHC, he prides himself on the relationships he’s developed throughout his career. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his wife and spending time with his 3 grandchildren.
Keith has invested 36 years in our industry. Currently at Mullins he focuses on sales and project management. He is an excellent source when it comes to electrified applications regarding access control. He has been with Mullins for 26 years and is a graduate of UAB.
George utilizes his 26 years of industry experience in project management, estimating and sales in our Birmingham office. A proud husband and father of two daughters, he enjoys hunting and off-shore fishing in his spare time.
An Air Force veteran with over 20 years of industry experience, Richard handles project management, sales and architectural detailing in our Decatur, AL office. Richard also holds both an apprentice AHC (Architectural Hardware Consultant) and CDC (Certified Door Consultant) certification, mastering in a myriad of fire, life safety, accessibility and building code requirements for all types of buildings. Richard has been an asset to our company for 10 years now, and resides in Decatur with his wife of 30 years. They have 3 sons and 4 grandchildren.
A jack of all trades, Zac performs several functions in our Decatur office, including sales, project management and detailing. Married with a daughter and new son, Zac enjoys hunting and fishing when time permits.
Jason has 18 years experience in most facets of this business and has been with the Mullins-Decatur sales team for almost 4 years. When he’s not bidding projects, he enjoys spending his spare time with his wife and brand new baby girl.
A past director of the DHI Board of Directors – Canada, Davi brought his 16 years of door and hardware industry experience to Mullins Building Products, Inc. in 2015. He is a certified Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC) and uses his certification for project management, estimating and architectural detailing.
Jay Rickels is our expert in end user and contract sales, as well as electronic access control and troubleshooting. With his keen attention to detail, he also is a go-to for master key system consulting and hardware spec writing. He is also certified in lead manufacturers’ key systems management and completed two years of architectural drafting and electronic hardware design applications. Jay has been with Mullins since the beginning of Mullins Building Products, Inc. and celebrated 29 years this year!
Rick Bloom came out of retirement to join the Mullins Building Products sales team in 2015 with a sales focus on colleges, hospitals and K-12 school systems. Prior to joining the Mullins team, Rick led several major construction equipment manufacturers sales and marketing teams in Vice President and National Sales Manager roles. He is a graduate of Lehigh University with dual degrees in accounting and marketing. Additionally, he was an assistant basketball coach at Lehigh, St. Francis College, Catholic University and the Head Coach at Ann Arundel Community College.
Taylor Prince works alongside Jeff Mullins in the estimating and project management role. Focusing mainly on finish hardware and Division 10 specialties, she brings over 10 years of experience to Mullins. Taylor is graduate of the University of Alabama and spends her spare time enjoying sports, namely SEC football, and the outdoors with her husband of 3 years, their precious son and two Boxers, Roxie and Harlie.
An industry veteran with almost 50 years of experience, Frankie manages our hollow metal shop and makes certain our customers’ needs are exceeded when it comes to doors and frames. When he’s not processing orders, he enjoys spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Dwayne began his career in the door and hardware industry 30 years ago in installation. He then moved to hollow metal and wood door machining, and has hands-on experience in almost every scope of this business. He has been with Mullins for 5 years and now works in architectural detailing. He is an excellent source when dealing with door and hardware application.
With 48 years of industry experience, Virginia has spent the last 14 years with MBP performing sales and project management duties for our Montgomery, AL office. She holds an AHC (Architectural Hardware Consultant) certification, and has a son, Greg, who also works in the industry. Virginia uses her spare time to work in her garden, watch golf and football, and spend time with her precious grandchildren.
Tres Smith has 35 years experience in the door and hardware industry and currently works in our estimating and detailing department, specializing in wood doors. He is an excellent source when it comes to veneers, manufacturers’ lead times and pricing.
